If you feel like you going to go ahead and quit why start. A few years ago I sent an e-blast telling people to stay in the race. So often in life we want to see the outcome of the race at the starting line, but the results are learned at the finish line.
Racing requires preparation, determination, endurance, and much more. I don't know about you but winning the race adds fuel to the passion of the race. Normally speaking in a race there is only one winner, but in the race of life everyone CAN be a winner. You may start slowly,do it at your own pace, pick up speed at a certain point in life and have to strain or stretch just to see the finish line.
I remember in my childhood I could really run fast. My legs were strong and long. I didn't mind a challenge from my brothers and other boys in the neighborhood. Being the winner was a lot of fun. There came a time when running didn't seem like so much fun any more. I suppose I had started to lose the races.. Now what kind of fun is that. I needed to keep winning to keep running. Yeah I was a sore loser.
It's easy to drop out, to sit down, to turn around and just plain give up. But I say don't quit, please stay in the race. Quitting will make you wonder what if I had just held out a little while longer. Winners always get some kind of prize, don't they. People often quote or misquote scripture by saying the race is not given to the swift nor to the strong, but to the one that endureth to the end. Sounds good but not quite the correct Bible quote.
I love the fact that every runner in the race wins. The prize is far greater than a blue ribbon, a statue, or some wreath around the neck. Yes at the finish line you can have a prize beyond compare. It's called a Crown .Stay in the race. The Crown awaits. I am determined to get mine.
