Spiritual Nugget/Surrender

Here I am again to inspire and encourage you to surrender another part of yourself unto the Lord.  YOUR EYES.  Our eyes are lights to our inner self. Your eyes can reveal much to the world. How, you say. Think about it, a little sparkle in the eye can tell others the peace and joy you have or the eye can show show sadness  and unhappiness.

Today I say to the Lord I surrender my eyes. My eyes are yours Lord to see both physically and spiritually so that you receive the glory. I surrender my physical sight to thee as I travel on this life journey on a daily basis. Heal each part of my natural eye to see the written word completely, and to be able to read and write with more clarity for your honor. I beseech you Master to take charge of my spiritual sight to see the nuggets of truth that you will reveal from day to day.  Lord I want to be able to  see in a spiritual sense  the ways you lay before me so that I can walk safely down the paths you have chosen for me.

I do totally surrender my eyes to you so that others can also benefit from the miraculous vision you have given.  Please let not my eyes become consumed with the lust of the flesh but rather with the word of truth. The word of truth is your holy and divine WORD. Take time today and see what the
Lord has in store. Today is your day.

Spiritual Nuggets/Surrender

I am now getting back to posting. When it seems you are on a roll to keep things going the sick bug drops by. Well I feel so much more encouraged to share with others the nuggets that I have used to lift me up in spirit. Today I choose to share with you the "I Surrender Nuggets."  I hope that they will cause you to think about you and whether you feel the need to surrender All of you to the Lord.

Surrender is a familiar word but most us of prefer not to use it in accordance with ourselves. For it means to yield to the power, control, or possession of another upon compulsion or demand. I like this other definition even better which says, to give oneself up into the power of another or in favor of another. For me as a believer I have chosen to surrender all of me to the Almighty God.  This is what works for me. These spiritual nuggets will be little lumps of thoughts or ideas concerned with religious values, sacred matters, and divine factors that causes one to be inspired.

Dear Lord I surrender today, all of myself unto thee so that I no longer live according to self but totally to thy will and way. I give you me, from the top of my head to the very soles of my feet. This I do for your honor and glory.

1. My mind , my brain I surrender to be complete in receiving that which brings forth knowledge from your hands unto me. My mind must be centered on thee and thee only. Please take away the confusion that would try to cause my mind to wander to the things of the world and bring dishonor to your name Dear Lord. Please increase my brain power to be used in ministry with wisdom and wholesomeness for the benefit of the work which you choose for me.No portion of my mind will be used for any ungodly thing. I yield to your all powerful hands. Have your way today Lord.

Celebrate the Years

I am looking back over the years of being in a God ordained marriage. Telling you how many might spoil things for some who are struggling just to keep it going. I do tell you this, working at it together makes it work. Some may say love conquers all, others may say love wanes over the years. I say a Christ centered life helps keep a Christ centered marriage together.

We have shared the ups and downs of a still born child, downsizing from the job, unforeseen retirements, surgeries and illnesses, moving, shortage of funds, school and college days with kids and so much more. Yet we press on. We have been kept by the Lord. We celebrate with joy. Have there been drudge days, yes. Have there been times of feeling worn down, yes. But never days of quitting or giving in or giving up. We decided to go all the way.So far we are doing just that.

The posts about staying in the race, and not quitting keeps the commitment fresh in my spirit. As soldiers in the Lord's army we must hold on and keep our faith strong to see what the end will be. We dare not quit. We dare not become disillusioned. My husband and I reminded ourselves today as we were out eating at one of our favorite restaurants that our relationship with each other is so like the Lord's with his church. That is the glue that holds us together. If you really want to know how we continue to keep the fire burning learn how to both like and love one another.

Something
I needed to post today just because I felt terrible yesterday and couldn't do anything. I was talking to a friend and found it hard to explain what is  wrong. The word that came to my mind was simply Something. So we laughed because the symptoms are much like the flu but then not exactly. Something fit perfectly.

The word something means a thing that is unspecified or unknown. It is also a description or amount being stated is not exact. That fit what I have exactly. My mind wandered as usual and I thought about the Some Things that are certain which differ from the something of this world. My love for the Lord is not unknown or uncertain it is sure.

Something can be compared to lots of things but a relationship with the Master of my soul can never be categorized as just something.  I encourage you to think about all of the somethings  in life and see if you would take the challenge to give something certain a try.

Don't Quit

If you feel like you going to go ahead and quit why start. A few years ago I sent an e-blast telling people to stay in the race. So often in life we want to see the outcome of the race at the starting line, but the results are learned at the finish line.

Racing requires preparation, determination, endurance, and much more. I don't know about you but winning the race adds fuel to the passion of the race. Normally speaking in a race there is only one winner, but in the race of life everyone CAN be a winner. You may start slowly,do it at your own pace, pick up speed at a certain point in life and have to strain or stretch just to see the finish line.

I remember in my childhood I could really run fast. My legs were strong and long. I didn't mind a challenge from my brothers and other boys in the neighborhood. Being the winner was a lot of fun. There came a time when running didn't seem like so much fun any more. I suppose I had started to lose the races.. Now what kind of fun is that. I needed to keep winning to keep running. Yeah I was a sore loser.

It's easy to drop out, to sit down, to turn around and just plain give up. But I say don't quit, please stay in the race. Quitting will make you wonder what if I had just held out a little while longer. Winners always get some kind of prize, don't they. People often quote or misquote scripture by saying the race is not given to the swift nor to the strong, but to the one that endureth  to the end. Sounds good but not quite the correct Bible quote.

I love the fact that every runner in the race wins. The prize is far greater than a blue ribbon, a statue, or some wreath around the neck. Yes at the finish line you can have a prize beyond compare. It's called a Crown .Stay in the race.  The Crown awaits. I am determined to get mine.

Is Hope Important

Saturday afternoon is  sometimes filled with the same old reruns on the tube and making decisions about Sunday's dinner.  Listening to soft music always helps quiet my mind so the thinking process can take hold. In pondering the monumental task of old shows and whether to dine in or out was becoming tedious. I sensed the need to allow my spiritual cravings to awaken and think of something that would challenge me and possibly enlighten others.

The word Hope caught my attention. In life we view many things that are important to each of us. Family, friends, economic stability, which includes job or retirement, possessions, and just oneself.  On a scale of one to ten where would these fall. You may not ever really tell but in your own mind you have placed a number by them. Haven't you? We could put the word hope with a / by any of the important things. Or let me ask is it of any importance to you at all?

Hope is a firm assurance, it is a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing. Hope means we want something to happen or to be the case. Living in the now age means we should continue to have hope. Each day should be a day of some type of expectation on our part. Nothing should be viewed as, oh well what ever. Believe in the hope that is in you. Haven't you heard of somethings being contagious. People say that about a smile. Hope can be.

People tell me that my face and my body language speaks volumes. I want others to see and sense the hope that lives within me.  You say did I say live. Yes I did.  There are so many things in the world today that are being hailed as just pass it on or pay it forward. Hope is free. Some may say why hope when you can simply wish for what ever it is you want.  Wishing  seems to be a surface thing but hope goes deep to the inner man.  Hope makes you want to hold on and see the thing come to pass. Hope makes you feel as if you are a part of something that includes you but is not dependent on you.

If you are not quite sure if hope is important I challenge you to consider a lackluster day or a day filled with nothingness and then please consider a day of the possibility of something happening that you had hoped for, finally pops up. Oh what a difference a day makes. My today was changed because I dared to express my feelings and excitement because of the great hope that I have. I wanted others to know that hope is important because it goes beyond, well maybe, to of course. I view having Hope as a part of who I am.
